Description

The building is a two-storey range located to the northeast of the Main Barrack Block at Raglan Barracks, designed in a simple Classical style similar to the other main ranges. It is constructed of rock-faced, coursed, red sandstone with freestone dressings, which include a first-floor sill band, voussoir lintels, and a 'sparrow-picked' plinth. The roof is slate with wide boarded eaves.

The front facade features a symmetrical design with 12-pane sash windows on the first floor. The layout consists of 8+4+8 bays, with a central section that is slightly advanced and topped with a pediment, which includes a blind roundel. The ground floor windows are shallower compared to those on the other two main ranges, and the boarded doors are wider, each with 4-pane overlights. There are some blocked openings on the extreme right side. The pediment treatment is also repeated on the blind gable ends. The rear of the building mirrors the front, featuring a central pediment, one full-height lean-to, and a cobbled pavement.
