Description
This building is a double-fronted Georgian townhouse from the 18th century, attached to neighboring properties. It features walls made of scored and painted roughcast render, with raised and staggered quoins, and a Welsh slate roof that has slightly swept eaves. The townhouse stands three storeys tall and has a three-window range of sashes set in reveals. The upper floor has windows with 4/8 panes, while the central window on the first floor is in a semi-circular arched recess, all being 16-pane sashes with slender glazing bars. The ground floor windows are also in similar recesses and are triple-light with narrower side-lights. The central doorway is semi-circular headed, featuring a wooden door case with pilasters and an open pediment, a recessed panelled door, and a fanlight with radial glazing. To the left, there is a railed forecourt with railings that have spear finials, and a deep plinth to the right. A two-storey rear bay offers a panoramic view of the castle at the back.
Inside, the layout includes a wide central hall with reception rooms and a staircase leading off. The interior retains six-panelled doors with moulded surrounds, shutters, panelled reveals, and a segmental-arched recess with a moulded arch in the living room, along with plaster cornices. The staircase features a wreathed handrail, decorative treads, and stick balusters.
