Description
The courtyard wall and gatepiers east of Powis Almshouses is a curved stone rubble wall topped with flat concrete coping. This wall connects the front corners of the two wings and increases in depth to accommodate the steep slope, rather than stepping. In the center, there is a gateway featuring tall double iron gates that are down-swept and adorned with spear finials and an urn. The square stone gate piers have moulded cornices, pyramidal caps, and ball finials, although the ball finials are currently not in their original position.
