Description

A pair of tall square gate piers of banded sandstone ashlar, with cornices and shallow pyramidal tops, furnished with a pair of full-height wrought-iron gates. These consist of 2 unequal tiers of enriched bar railings separated by a band of foliated scrollwork; the lower including slender dog-bars, and the top rail finished with exuberant scrolled cresting. Attached to the outer side of each pier is a curved dwarf wall which appears to be of C19 character and carries plain bar railings.
