Description

This railway bridge was constructed entirely of cast and wrought iron, with local red sandstone used for the abutments. It features three unequal spans that are supported by pairs of circular cast iron piers, with two located in the river and two on the west bank. The side spans consist of panels with wrought iron cross bracing, while the central span is a bow-string girder, also featuring cross bracing. The deck is made of arched cast iron plates.
