Description
Nos. 7 and 9 Chippenhamgate Street are two-storey double depth cottages built with roughcast render, featuring a plinth and cornice band, and topped with Welsh slate roofs. No. 7 has a double front that follows a sharp curve, while No. 9 has a straight front and a door on the right side. In total, there are five windows: three in No. 7 and two in No. 9, all fitted with double hung sashes that have 6 over 6 panes. Both doors have small broken pediment hoods supported by brackets; however, the doors themselves are 20th-century replacements with two panels below and three panes above. The cottages have a very shallow pitch roof with ridge stacks located at either end and between the two houses. The rear elevation has been largely altered. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey, but it is clear that the rooms are likely to be very small.
