Description
Nos. 7 and 9 Chippenhamgate Street are double depth cottages dating from the 18th century. They feature roughcast render with a plinth and cornice band, topped with Welsh slate roofs. No. 7 is double fronted, positioned on a sharp curve, while No. 9 has a straight front and a right-hand door. The cottages are two storeys high and have a total of five windows, with three in No. 7 and two in No. 9. All windows are double hung sashes with six over six panes. Both doors have small broken pediment hoods supported by brackets, but the doors themselves are 20th-century replacements, consisting of two panels below and three panes above. The roof has a very shallow pitch with ridge stacks located at either end and between the two houses. The rear elevation has been largely altered. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey, but it is clear that the rooms are likely to be very small.
