Description
Trothy Bridge is a Grade II listed structure built from roughly squared and coursed sandstone, featuring dressed stone for the arches, copings, pilasters, and cutwater. It is a two-arch bridge with low semi-circular arches on either side of a diamond cutwater, which is visible from both sides of the bridge. There is a central strip pilaster over the cutwater, as well as end pilasters, and the parapet is topped with triangular coping stones. The downstream face of the bridge has been more extensively rebuilt in the late 20th century compared to the upstream side, and the parapet wall includes some concrete coping stones.
