Description
Great House is a farmhouse constructed from rubble stone with red brick dressings and a slate hipped roof featuring flat eaves. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window front, showcasing large 15-pane sash windows with a central doorway. The entrance consists of double two-panel doors topped with a depressed-arched fanlight, all set within a depressed arched surround. The windows and the outer surround of the door have red brick jambs and heads, while the recess around the door is entirely made of red brick. The head of the right window on the ground floor has been replaced with concrete, and the building features stone sills. An ashlar band runs between the floors.
At the north end, there is a similar sash window with a concrete lintel, situated above an added lean-to. The south end has a similar upper window that has been replaced with plastic, also with a concrete lintel. The rear southwest wing has concrete tiles and is two storeys high, with a three-window range of triple casements, most of which have been replaced with plastic, except for the left window on the ground floor. There is a central door, and the right-hand window on the ground floor is not aligned with the one above.
The rear of the main range features a hipped centre stair projection and red brick wall-face stacks on either side. There is a rendered two-storey lean-to on the left and a rear wing to the right that includes three pairs of casements above a 20th-century porch and a 20th-century long window. The property is not available for inspection.
