Description
Church Farm is a farmhouse constructed from colourwashed rubble stone, topped with a slate roof. It features a large lateral chimney on the front wall and end gable stacks, one made of stone with a moulded cornice and the other rendered. The building is two storeys high with four bays to the right of the prominent chimney breast on the front wall and one bay to the left. There are two small gabled dormers on the right and one on the left. The right range includes a pair of casement windows, four small windows without sills above, and three larger windows below with timber lintels and stone sills. A Tudor-style door is located in the second bay, sheltered by a 20th-century canopy. The chimney has a broad external breast that is heavily offset to the left below the eaves, continuing up in colourwashed stone, while the upper part is made of red brick. The section to the left has one small 20th-century window on each floor. There is a lower lofted one-window range to the left with a small brick stack at the left end, and casement pairs on the ground floor front and in the east end gable loft. The rear of the farmhouse features a lean-to on the left with a tall rendered chimney, while the wall to the right has a pair of casement windows on each floor and a long stair light. An outbuilding attached to the right is separately listed as Village Farm. The interior was not available for inspection during the last survey in December 1999.
