Description
Old Croftau is a farmhouse constructed from rubble stone, featuring traces of colour-wash, imitation slates on the roof, and stone end stacks. The building stands two storeys high and has a three-window range that is offset to the left. It includes renewed 12-pane sash windows and a boarded door with an overlight. The stone voussoirs and stone sills add to its architectural detail. The right end wall has 20th-century windows, and the rear of the house has been extended outward in the late 20th century, featuring four large dormers.
Attached to the left side, downhill, is a former barn with a slate roof and close eaves. The barn has a large opening on the right with a timber lintel, one loop to the right, two loops to the left, and a lower cartshed door at the extreme left, also with a timber lintel. The roof of the barn includes five skylights, and the left end wall has three vent loops.
Inside, the ground floor has been opened up, revealing four heavy beams and a large fireplace beam at the west end.
