Description
The Lodge at Porth Pen-y-parc is a Grade II listed building constructed from squared rock-faced red sandstone rubble, topped with a stone slate roof. This small, charming cottage features gables on all sides and is two storeys high, with an additional single-storey wing. The main section facing the road includes a single-storey gabled kitchen wing to the left, which has a tall stone chimney on the gable end. To the right, there is a gable facing the road and a gabled cross-wing behind it, both featuring a 2-light timber casement window with a hoodmould above. A gabled dormer is situated between these two gables, and there is a weathered stone chimney on the ridge above. The gable facing the road has a 3-light window with a hoodmould on the ground floor, and a date plaque indicating "1862 REBUILT 1916" is set into the gable. There is also a single gabled wing on the right return. The elevation facing the park has not been seen. The interior was not inspected during the resurvey.
