Description

Ty-saer-maen and Ty-saer-coed are two cottages built from local random rubble that has been painted over. The left side of the building has been raised under the eaves, likely using brick, while the right side features more smooth walling, indicating that the original stone structure was extended with brick. The right gable end and the rear extension are both smooth, and the roof is covered with natural slate.

The cottages are two storeys high with a single depth main range and rear wings, creating an L shape for each cottage. The main elevation has been altered; the original paired doorways in the center have been modified, with the left doorway converted into a window, and the left cottage now has its entrance on the return. The ground floor features three windows on the left, and a door with two windows on the right. The first floor has two windows on each side, positioned above the inner and outer windows below. All windows are 2-light small paned casements, although they do not share the same glazing pattern. The door is partially glazed and has a gabled porch. The roof is plain with overhanging eaves, and there is a stone stack on the left gable and a brick stack on the right.

The left return gable includes the entrance door, while the right return gable has modern windows on both floors and a single bay rear wing with a 3-light window below and a 2-light window above. There is also an additional single storey wing with a 2-light window. The rear elevation has not been seen. The interior has not been observed during the resurvey.
