Description

Ty-saer-coed, along with Ty-saer-maen, is a building constructed from local random rubble that has been painted over. The left side of the building has been raised under the eaves, likely using brick, resulting in less rubble and more smooth walling compared to the right side. This suggests that the original stone house was extended with brick, as indicated by the chimneys. The right gable end and the rear extension feature smooth surfaces. The building has a natural slate roof and consists of two storeys with a single depth main range and rear wings, creating an L shape for each cottage.

The main elevation has been modified; the original paired doorways in the center have been altered, with the left-hand doorway converted into a window. The left cottage now has its entrance on the return side. On the ground floor, there are three windows to the left and a door with two windows to the right. The first floor features two windows on either side, positioned above the inner and outer windows. All windows are 2-light small paned casements, though they do not share the same glazing pattern. The door is partially glazed and includes a gabled porch. The roof is plain with overhanging eaves, and there is a stone stack on the left gable and a brick stack on the right.

The left return gable has the entrance door, while the right return gable features a modern window on each floor and a single bay rear wing with a 3-light window below and a 2-light window above. There is also an additional single-storey wing with a 2-light window. The rear elevation has not been seen. The interior was not observed during the resurvey.
