Description
The barn at Ty-coch Farm is a 19th-century structure built of red brick and topped with an asbestos sheet roof. The south wall features a central entrance with boarded doors and a gabled porch that has a wavy boarded front. Originally, the walls on either side had four slit vents with arrow loops, which have been modified with inserted windows and doors, but the original features are still visible. There is also a further gable vent and an opposed door.
Inside, the barn has a five-bay layout supported by four principal rafter trusses, which include ties, trenched purlins, and secondary rafters, all of which are intact. The principal rafters are halved and pegged at the apex, supporting a ridge piece. The timber used throughout is hewn and roughly finished.
