Description
The barn and attached stable at Ty-coch is a 18th-century structure built from roughly squared, limewashed local red sandstone rubble, topped with a corrugated sheet metal roof, while the stable has a natural slate roof. The rectangular barn features a stable addition on the right side. The gable end faces the road and includes a cowshed door below and a taking-in door for the hayloft above, which has a plaque inscribed with "M : WM : 1765."
On the yard elevation, a lean-to conceals the left end of the building, followed by doors leading to the cowshed and hayloft, and large double doors that open to the barn. The roof is steeply pitched. The stable on the right has a door and window, with a lower roofline and an additional lean-to on the right side.
The rear elevation has two plain doors leading into the barn, but lacks the large double door found on the front. There is also a door to the hayloft above the stable. The interior has not been seen during the resurvey, but it is believed to serve multiple purposes, including a corn barn, hayloft, cowshed, and stable.
