Mount Pleasant Stores

Mount Pleasant Stores is a building constructed from squared brown sandstone, featuring painted moulded brick for the upper window surround and a concrete tiled roof. It has a narrow frontage with a full-width timber shopfront that includes plain outer windows, which are canted towards the central doors. The stallriser is tiled and painted over. The shopfront has plain end pilasters, a fascia with later lettering-board, and terminals that have paired brackets with rounded tops. The paired doors are narrower on the right side, with two panels on the left door and one panel on the right, and boarded shutters above. There is a plain overlight above the doors. The first-floor showroom window consists of three wide round-headed lights supported by thin timber shafts, set within a segmentally-headed opening made of moulded brick, with incised work in the spandrels. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey in August 1999.
