Description
The NE Roundhouse at Roundhouse Farm is a Grade II* listed circular tower built from rubble, featuring a slightly battered base with walls approximately 1.2 metres thick. The structure has two storeys and is characterized by narrow rectangular windows, some of which have iron grilles, along with stone sills and lintels. The main entrance is located on the southwest side and is sheltered by a shallow porch with a slate roof. The door is made of riveted iron plates and has circular holes, believed to be musket holes, that are sealed with iron flaps. To the right of the doorway, there is an iron grille leading to the cellar.
Inside, the building consists of a cellar and two floors. Although the flooring has been lost, it still retains iron joists. A staircase curves around the inner wall, leading up to an iron roof made of slotted iron segments covered with brick. The parapet wall is adorned with stones set on edge.
