It stands on a tall, stepped plinth that has buttresses on the sides and is topped with a pyramidal, corbelled cap stone. A bronze bust in relief is set into the front face of the obelisk. The base features an inscription that simply reads "CALEDFRYN." Additionally, there is an inscription on the side that commemorates Mary Williams, who lived from 1838 to 1919.
