Description

The Parry Monument is a Grade II listed obelisk made of polished red granite. It features chamfered angles and stands on a tapering pedestal that has a corniced cap and acroterial angle finials. The pedestal includes a memorial inscription that reads: 'Eglwys rydd a gwlad rydd. Y golofn hon a godwyd gan wladwyr Cymru er cof am John Parry Llanarmon arwr rhyddid gwladol a chrefyddol'. Below the pedestal is a plinth that is moulded with chamfered angles and has polished panels, while the rest of the plinth is unpolished. The base is made of unpolished granite with polished panels and a chamfered upper edge, resting on a thin white marble chamfered top that sits atop a rock-faced stone plinth.
