Description
The War Memorial is a Grade II listed structure featuring a polished granite column set on a pedestal that is raised on two steps. Each corner of the bottom step has a small octagonal obelisk. The pedestal has an ogee moulded base and displays a rectangular plaque on the front marked with the years 1914-1918. Each face of the pedestal features a raised panel, and there are bronze roundels affixed to it: the front roundel is inscribed with 'In memory of our glorious dead', the side roundels display the Prince of Wales feathers and the Welsh dragon, while the rear roundel features the arms of Loughor. The column itself has a moulded base and cap, with a bronze wreath attached. At the top, there is a glass globe held in a metal ring, topped with a spearhead finial.
