Description
The gates, piers, and railings at Capel Moriah are made of rockfaced brown stone with low walls topped with sandstone ashlar copings. The iron railings feature a spearhead design and a horseshoe motif beneath the top rail between each pair of rails. In front of the chapel, the rails curve towards two stone gatepiers that have sandstone pyramid caps, with two similar piers at each end. The railings continue in the same style for a short distance to the right and in front of the schoolroom to the left, leading to simple outer piers. In front of the schoolroom, there are two earlier tooled stone piers with simpler caps. The gates for both the chapel and schoolroom are similar, featuring spear-head dog-bars, horseshoes beneath the top rail, and scrolls that ramp up to the meeting stiles, but they do not have top spearheads.
