Description
The monument to Thomas James Thomas and others is a Grade II listed triple-stem tomb made of white granite, set within balustrading. It stands on a coursed masonry plinth that includes an entrance to a vault. The central stem is the tallest, featuring a square base with trefoil-headed blind arches supported by colonnettes with decorative capitals. It is topped with a high cornice that has a moulded round arch on each face, with urns at the corners. Above this is a draped urn with a wreath, positioned diagonally on a pedestal adorned with festoons.
The two flanking stems are simpler in design, each having a square base with an inscribed ogee arch on each face, low-relief foliage in the spandrels, and a deep moulded cornice above. Each flanking stem is capped with a short obelisk that bears a wreath and supports a plain urn. The balustrading features large shaped posts at the corners and in the center of the front and rear sides. Inscriptions can be found on the front face of each base.
