Description
Crumlin Old Bridge is a single span humpbacked bridge made of stone rubble, featuring splayed approaches. Originally, it had flat stone copings, but only two of these remain; the others have been repaired using brick and concrete. The parapet has been largely rebuilt in some areas, using rockfaced stone instead of the original narrower courses of rubble. The bridge has deep, uneven narrow stone voussoirs. The parapet is quite low, and the river arch is wide, giving the structure a light and graceful appearance when viewed from the side.
