Description
The Crumlin Viaduct southwest abutment is a 19th-century structure made of snecked rockfaced stone with ashlar dressings. It serves as a retaining wall and features heavy rockfaced quoins with tooled edges, corniced coping, and three large angled buttresses. The offset of the buttresses is marked by a thick moulded ashlar band that matches the profile of the coping. The lower section of the wall is battered to fit the slope, while the central part between the piers is slightly recessed.
