Description
Viaduct Cottage is a group of two cottages that have been combined into a single dwelling. The building is constructed of whitewashed stone rubble and features a renewed slate roof with overhanging eaves, terracotta ridge tiles, and brick stacks at each end. It is a single storey with an attic, showcasing a simple, low symmetrical front that includes two doorways with plank doors and 6-pane casement windows with stone sills on either side. Above the right doorway, there is a very small 2-pane light, while the left side is blocked.
Inside, the cottage has stone steps next to a fireplace, which includes a cast iron lintel and a bake oven recess at each end. The divisions between rooms have been removed, and the roof consists of simple slender pegged ties, rafters, and trenched purlins.
