Description
The memorial fountain located in the churchyard wall of St David's was established to commemorate the marriage of the Prince of Wales on 10 March 1863. It features inscriptions that read, "To commemorate the marriage of the Prince of Wales, 10 March 1863"; "Willis Brothers - Sculpts London"; and "Cast by the Coalbrookdale Co".
The fountain is designed with a coped kneelered gable made of stugged masonry, and it has an arched outlet at the base. The painted ironwork is shaped like a sinuous cartouche, adorned with a cherub overthrow, foliage trails, and figures representing Christ and The Samaritan Woman, accompanied by the text "Drinketh ...2 (John IV.13.14)". There is a central niche that holds the fountain bowl.
