Barn and cow house at Ynysmaerdy Farm

The building at Ynysmaerdy Farm is a U-shaped block located on the north side of the farmhouse, dating from an unspecified period. The western and northern wings served as cow houses, while the taller eastern wing functioned as a barn and stable. It is constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with tooled stone dressings and features a slate roof.

The western wing contains seven segmental-headed doorways, and its gable end has a small-pane window with a blocked loft window above. The northern wing originally had eight doorways, with the doorway to the left of center being wider for cart access, while the doorway immediately to its left has been converted into a window. The doorways at both ends of this wing are taller than the others.

In the eastern wing, the barn includes a wagon bay to the left, which has a segmental-headed door that is partly infilled. There is a single segmental-headed door in the center of this wing. The roughcast gable end features a boarded door to the right beneath a segmental head, along with a boarded door leading to the loft above. The barn has openings with brick jambs that are now boarded up, and the rear gable end has a doorway that has been cut through an earlier block doorway with an elliptical arch. The northern wing has a corrugated iron rear slope and brick jambs for blocked openings.
