Description
This building is a barn, stables, and cowhouses located to the north-east of Manor Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. It features coursed stone rubble walls and gable ends on the ground floor, with a weatherboarded timber-framed loft level above. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and the structure is a 9-bay continuous range aligned east-west.
On the south front, there are two stable bays to the east, with a pair of stable doors in the right bay and a single door in the left. The central section has four cowhouse bays, each with lower, wider doors and flanking ventilation slits. To the west, there are three barn bays, with a barn door located in the middle bay. Each bay at the loft level has a single opening in the framing. The rear of the building has a barn door opening that has been infilled with concrete blocks, along with ventilation slits for both the loft and ground floor.
Inside, there are eight twin raking-strut internal trusses, all open except for the square framing that divides the three-bay barn from the cowhouses. The roof structure consists of double trenched purlins with a diagonally-set ridge.
