Description
The reservoir of the former Llantrisant Colliery is a circular structure built between the rock faces of a former quarry along a small stream. It has a diameter of approximately 30 meters and stands about 9 meters high. The reservoir is made of a thin reinforced concrete shell with straight vertical sides that are topped with a narrow lip and a dished bottom. The use of concrete in this way was uncommon at the time it was built, showcasing a notable level of design skill.
