Description

The boundary walls of the Northern Enclosure, which contains the Esgair Moel Woollen Mill, are constructed of limestone rubble and stand about 3 meters high, although the height varies in places. These walls run alongside the public footpath on the north and west sides, while the southern boundary aligns with the boundary established in 1766. There is a doorway with a slightly cambered head located in the north-west wall. In the south-west corner, to the north-west of Stryd Lydan Barn, an external stone staircase with ramped balustrades leads up to a gazebo. The gazebo features a hipped pantile roof topped with a ball finial, and it has a stone floor and stone benches. The stone rubble walls that enclose the northern and eastern sides of the enclosure include a break in the middle of the eastern wall, indicating that these sections were built later.
