Description
No. 1 Chestnut Cottages is part of a row of three estate cottages, built from random rubble limestone with a 'vertical crazy paving' style on the main elevation. The cottages feature dressed long-and-short quoins and rusticated window surrounds, topped with a Welsh slate roof. Each cottage is two stories high and has a single depth with a small rear wing. The row has six windows in total, with the center cottage being double fronted under a gable, while the outer cottages have their doors positioned to the left and right. The cottages have plank doors and iron diamond lattice windows, with three-light windows below and two-light windows above, each now fitted with a single pane in the opening part. There are two red brick chimneys located between the houses, and the rear elevation has been partly altered. The interior has not been inspected.
