Description
The Gwrych Estate Boundary Wall, built from local limestone rubble, stretches for approximately 1 kilometer alongside the road. It begins just beyond the easternmost corner turret at Tan-yr-Ogof Lodge. The wall maintains an average height of about 2.5 meters for the first 30 meters, where there is a Tudor-arched entrance featuring a recessed modern steel door. After this section, the wall steps down in two stages, each roughly 30 meters long, to follow the gentle slope of the road. The right-hand section of the western part is simply crenellated, and the entire eastern section is also crenellated. The wall continues as a 'cock-and-hen' coped wall, stepping down to a height of about 2.5 meters until it meets Hen Wrych.
