Description
The Power House at Mount Stuart Graving Docks is a single-storey building with a tower, constructed in red brick and topped with slate roofs that feature longitudinal ventilators. The walls are supported by shallow brick buttresses at the corners and have corbelled eaves courses.
The structure consists of two blocks: the broader and taller northwest block has four bays of round-headed arches on each side, which are now blocked. The northwest gable end features a small round window near the apex, with four round-narrow-headed windows below it, also blocked and with some rebuilding evident at the western corner. The narrower and lower southwest block mirrors this design with four bays of round-headed arches on each side, but these are offset to align with the northeast elevation of the larger block. The southeast gable end of this block also has a small round window near the apex.
Between the two blocks, on the northeast elevation, there is a square-headed doorway with a concrete lintel and a sliding wooden door. In the angle between the blocks stands a square tower with a parapet and a blocking course; on the southwest side, there is a tall round-headed window with metal glazing above a round-headed doorway. Inside the tower, there is a riveted metal vertical cylinder.
