Description

The Former Pilot House is a compact two-storey structure made of red brick, featuring a tall crenellated tower at the northern end. It has slate roofs, which were stripped at the time of inspection. The first floor has segmental arched window heads, while the ground floor features lunettes and fixed small-pane glazing. The tower top includes brace-plates, and there is a plinth with an outside stair that has an ironwork handrail leading to boarded doors on the first floor. At the southern end, there is a small one-storey gabled extension. The upper room has a boarded interior with panelled doors. The building was undergoing restoration at the time of inspection in May 1986.
