Description

13 Cambrian Place is a three-storey building with a basement, dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of red brick with coursed rubble basements, and has a continuous slate roof, hipped at the right end, with plain brick chimney stacks. Brick headers are visible at the eaves on the left side.

The front of the building has two windows on each floor. The windows have gauged brickwork voussoirs and modern canopied sash windows arranged in triplets, set within tall arched recesses, on the first floor (with narrow flanking windows in the centre left). The ground floor has bipartites, and most windows have large-pane sash glazing, which has been renewed. The doorcases are elaborately offset and pilastered, featuring key pattern friezes, narrow hoods, panelled reveals, and traceried fanlights above six-panel doors. Steps lead up to the entrances. Basement areas are accessed by plain ironwork railings and steps.

The side elevation, facing the River Tawe, is roughcast, and the rear elevation has been modernised.
