Description
34 and 35 are a pair of three-storey buildings with a stucco front that has been altered with Portland Stone. The façade features four window bays and a projecting cornice topped with a parapet. At each end, there are pilasters adorned with Baroque style capitals and hanging swags. The second floor has squarish windows fitted with small pane horned sashes, which are framed by architraves that include keystones and aprons below the sills. The first floor windows also have horned small pane sashes and are framed by architraves with large keystones that extend upwards into very steeply pitched triangular pediments. There is a blocking course at the level of the sills. The ground floor has an early 20th-century commercial front made of Portland stone, consisting of six bays on a plinth. Pilasters with sunk panels support a plain entablature. The fourth bay from the left features a deeply set doorway topped with a segmental Baroque style canopy on brackets. At the time of inspection in autumn 1997, the windows were boarded up.
