Description
Coptic House is a three-storey building made of Portland stone, featuring five bays. The ends are accentuated with giant banded pilaster strips. At the top, there is a parapet displaying the date '1910' within a laurel garland on a stepped central pediment, along with a modillion cornice. The first and second floors have square-headed windows, with the second-floor windows featuring moulded surrounds and broad keystones above, supported by lion-headed brackets. The first-floor windows are adorned with cornices that have recessed central sections and banded surrounds that extend between the windows. The ground floor showcases banded rustication and a cornice held up by large volute brackets. The central rectangular entrance doorway is highlighted by a very large volute keystone and is flanked by modern shopfronts, each situated between engaged banded quarter columns topped with small Roman Doric capitals.
