Description
6 Mount Stuart Square is a three-storey building featuring one window bay on each floor. It has slate roofs and brick chimneys. The exterior is finished in stucco, with some areas scribed to imitate ashlar. The ground floor is rusticated and has a shallow plinth. There is a cornice and a parapet along the top.
The second floor windows are broad tripartite designs, while the first floor windows are of the Venetian type, featuring tripartite openings framed by Doric pilasters and a shell motif in a small tympanum above. A cornice runs above the rusticated ground floor.
The ground floor of No 6 is largely unaltered and includes a segmental-headed doorway with stucco voussoirs, alongside a three-light window to its right. In contrast, the ground floor of No 7 has a window with modern two-light glazing and a wide passageway to the right, which was created in 1889, leading through to West Bute Street. There is a modern entrance doorway to No 7 immediately to the left within the passage.
