Description

Nos. 3 and 4 Cardiff Road are a pair of low, two-storey cottages dating from the 18th century. They are built of stone rubble with brick details. The upper windows have heads that align with the eaves. The ground floor openings feature brick chambered heads. No. 3 has a lean-to outshut to the right and a doorway with a ledged door and a modern gabled hood on its right. To the left of the doorway is a window with three panes above and below. No. 4 has two outward-opening windows with three panes above and one to the left below. It also has a doorway with a ledged door and a rough wood trellis porch with a gabled hood. All windows are now replacements dating from approximately 1990, featuring a three-pane top-opening casement design. The roof is of low pitch and covered with Welsh slate, with two rebuilt stacks of red brick. The rear elevation has small outshuts. The interiors were not inspected during a recent survey.
