Description
Hill Cottage is an estate cottage built with stone walling and colourwashed cladding, topped with a Welsh slate gabled roof featuring a central stone stack. The front elevation is two storeys high and consists of two bays with a central door bay. It has three-light casement windows, with plain centre lights and outer lights that have lattice glazing. The entrance is marked by an arched brick porch, which has a slate gabled roof and a ledged door.
There was once a lamp bracket, decorated with scrolls and designed to hold a downward tapering quadrangular lamp with peaked cresting, attached to the western corner of the front wall. Although the lamp is no longer present, the scar where it was fixed remains. The west gable end features a 2-light window above a small canted bay and has bargeboards at the gable. Additionally, there is a small lean-to structure against the eastern return wall, which also has a slate gabled roof. The rear elevation was not seen during the resurvey. The interior was not inspected at the time of the resurvey.
