Description
Ivy Cottage, along with Osmington Cottage and The Mount, is a group of three two-storey cottages built in 1852. The cottages are constructed from stone rubble with dressed stone quoins, featuring coping and kneelers on the gables, and topped with a Welsh slate roof that has ridge stacks with old pots.
Ivy Cottage is set back in the center and has a front elevation with two window bays and a central door bay that includes a porch. The windows are three-light casements, with the center lights being plain and the outer lights adorned with lattice tracery, all resting on stone cills. The porches have pointed arches and gables.
To the left, Osmington Cottage has a gabled cross-wing and features three-light casement windows both above and below in the front gable end, along with an external stack and porch. The Mount, located to the right, mirrors this design with similar window arrangements and architectural details. The rear elevation of the cottages was not inspected during the resurvey.
