Description
4, 4A, and 5 Church Hill are terraced cottages that may date back to the mid-16th century. They are timber-framed with flint walls that have brick dressings likely added in the 19th century, and they feature tiled roofs. The cottages are two storeys high and have a total of five windows. The entrance to No. 4 is located in a hipped, single-storey porch on the right, while No. 4A has a segmental-arched entrance, and the entrance to No. 5 is not visible. The first floor of No. 4 includes a canted oriel window, while the other windows are flat-arched. There is a rear extension to No. 4 from around 1950 and another extension to the rear of No. 4A that is probably from the 19th century. The roof slopes hipped to the south and gabled to the north before descending to the gabled roof of No. 5, which has one stack, along with a ridge stack to the south-east. No. 4 features a queen post roof, which is likely also present in Nos. 4A and 5. The interior has not been inspected.
