Description

These are three terraced cottages, likely part of a larger group of four or five originally, dating from the 18th century. They are built of flint with brick dressings, and probably have a timber-frame interior, with a slate roof. The cottages are two storeys high; numbers 53 and 55 each have two windows, while number 57 has one. Brick quoins are visible. The entrances to numbers 53 and 55 are flat-arched, while number 57 has a segmental arch. All the windows have flat arches. Number 53 features eight bands of red brick at intervals in the front wall and has a stack. There is a stack to the party wall ridge between numbers 53 and 55, and an external stuccoed stack to number 57. The right-hand return is stuccoed. The interior of number 53 includes exposed beams.
