Description
The former National School and attached school-house is now a single dwelling. It is constructed of coursed limestone on a plinth, featuring brick dressings around the school windows and a Welsh slate roof. The building has a central brick ridge stack for the school and an end stack for the house. The layout includes a single-storey school with a central fireplace and a two-storey house cross wing.
The school frontage has two 20-pane sash windows with cambered heads, and there is a blocked square-headed window under wide voussoirs on the gable end. The house wing, which is set back, has a doorway with a boarded door beneath cambered voussoirs and a single 12-pane casement window on each floor, also with cambered voussoirs on the ground floor.
Inside, the building retains flag floors. There is a wide black fireplace in the main former school room, with narrow wooden stairs rising alongside the wall. The boarding encasing the stairs is visible in the corner of the living room of the house, along with boarded doors.
