Description
Pound Cottage is a thatched cottage with white painted rendered walls and low stone end stacks. The main central unit features small four-pane windows, with two on the first floor at the front and none at the rear. The ground floor includes a small lean-to porch with a plank door and a single window next to it. The left gable end shows an offset at plinth level, likely related to a fireplace. To the left, a lower thatched cross wing extends forward and has a separately thatched bay window on its gable end. On the right, there is another small thatched wing with a hipped roof that slopes to the right, with the ridge parallel to the main unit.
The interior has been largely remodelled, combining the two former living rooms into one. There is a restored main open fireplace on the left, with a spiral staircase nearby, and a smaller fireplace on the right. The ceiling features narrow exposed joists, but there are no beams.
