Former Preswylfa Childrens Home

The Former Preswylfa Children's Home is a single-unit, asymmetrical, two-storey building constructed from rubble, featuring a three-window front. The outer first-floor windows extend through overhanging eaves and are topped with dormer-type roofs. It has a tall hipped tiled roof adorned with ridge cresting and brick-capped rubble chimney stacks. The building includes a plinth and freestone window dressings. A central two-storey and attic bay is set forward and gable-ended, with flanking cross roofs that are gabled on the right and hipped on the left. The windows are mainly paired sash types. There is a lean-to porch at the return angle of the central bay, with a half hipped right end and a cross gable on the left end. The rear exhibits similar architectural details along with a low central extension. At the time of inspection in April 1986, the building was noted to be in poor condition.
