Former Preswylfa Childrens Home

The Former Preswylfa Children's Home is a single-unit, asymmetrical building dating from the 19th century. It is constructed of bull-nosed rubble and features a two-storey front with three windows. The outer first-floor windows rise through overhanging eaves and have dormer-type roofs. The building has a tall, hipped tiled roof adorned with ridge cresting and finials, along with brick-capped rubble chimney stacks. It includes a plinth and freestone window dressings.

The central bay is two-storey and attic, advanced and gable-ended, with flanking cross roofs—gabled to the right and hipped to the left. Most of the windows are paired sash windows. There is a lean-to porch at the return angle of the central bay. The right end has a half-hipped roof, while the left end features a cross gable. A similar architectural detail is present at the rear, which has a low central extension.

At the time of inspection in April 1986, the building was noted to be in poor condition.
