Description
The Former Preswylfa Children's Home is a single-unit, asymmetrical building dating from the 19th century. It is two stories high and features a two-window bull-nosed front made of rubble, with a plinth and freestone window dressings. The steep tiled roof is swept low to the center, with overhanging eaves, ridge cresting, and finials, along with rubble chimney stacks. On the right side, there is an advanced half-hipped cross roof; a first-floor window on the left rises through the eaves and has a gabled dormer roof, while there are blocked-up paired windows. The left end has a half-hipped design with outside stairs and a gabled upper window on the right side. The rear elevation is similar to the front. A modern school building to the right is not of special interest. At the time of inspection in April 1986, the building was in poor condition.
