Description
1 Old Market Street is a two-storey building with a cellar, featuring two windows. The exterior is covered in whitewashed roughcast on a rubble base, topped with a steeply pitched slate roof, which was originally stone tiled, and has plain eaves. A modern brick chimney stack is present.
On the first floor, there are twelve-pane horned sash windows with plain reveals and stone sills. The entrance to the house is located on the left side of the ground floor, consisting of a four-panel door with long upper panels that are glazed, accompanied by a rectangular fanlight above. To the right, there is an advanced shop front that forms a bay, featuring a flat lead roof, console brackets, vine motifs, and panelled pilasters. The doorway on the right side has a four-panel door with short upper panels that are glazed and a deep rectangular fanlight with a depressed head. Additionally, there is a three-light transomed shop window with depressed heads and panelled stallrisers.
